Prices, Postage and Tax

All prices on this site are given in Australian dollars. (A currency comparison is available below.)

The prices of printed books include postage—both for Australian and international customers. Postage is by Air Mail. The nature of the printed booklets is such that they can be sent as a 'letter', which means that postage costs are kept to a minimum.

All prices for Australian customers include GST (the Australian Goods and Services Tax). There is no tax charged for international customers.

How it Works

Buying online from Books for Learning is very simple. Payment is made by credit card through PayPal.

When you click Add to Cart—either via the Online Store or via each book’s description page—you are taken to a shopping cart. At this point you can either Proceed to Checkout or return to the Books for Learning site (click Return to Merchant, or just close the page) to select more titles. You can access the cart via the Online Store or via each book’s description page at any time.

Clicking Proceed to Checkout from the shopping cart initiates the buying process. If you have a PayPal account you can enter your email address and password. Otherwise you will be prompted to set up a user account, including such details as your email address and credit card information. Having a user account will speed up the buying process next time you make purchases via PayPal. Please make sure to keep a record of your password!

During the payment process you have the option of sending a note to Books for Learning along with your purchase. For example, if you have a slow internet connection you could request that your digital files be sent to you in separate emails.

When payment is completed, PayPal will send you a receipt of purchase by email, which should arrive within moments of the sale. You will also be sent your digital books by email, which should arrive within 24 hours of your purchase. (Please see important information about your email account below.)

Clear instructions are given at each stage of the buying process, and you can withdraw at any stage before you actually purchase the product.

Security

Online sales from Books for Learning are made through PayPal, an internationally recognised online payment facility.

You will notice, during the checkout process, that the PayPal URL (or web address at the top of your browser) begins with https:// rather than http://. This indicates that the connection between your computer and the shopping cart is safe and secure. (It is never advisable to buy online from sites whose URL does not begin with https://.) The shopping cart pages are SSL certified and 128 bit encrypted (the current international standard recognised by governments for online security.) Do note, however, that you still need to protect your own computer from attack by running appropriate anti-virus and firewall software.

When you make purchases through this process, Books for Learning is given access to your email and home address, but not your credit card information. Your email address is needed so that your receipt and PDF files can be sent to you. In some (hopefully rare!) situations it may be necessary to contact you by post if email is not successful (see important notes below for further details). Books for Learning will not use information about you for any other purpose, and will never share this information with other parties. The only information about you held on-site by Books for Learning is your name and email address, and these are safely stored and cannot be accessed online.

Books for Learning does not send emails or other mail to customers except to complete transactions or to respond to queries.

Refunds

If you have any problem whatever with products from this site, please contact Books for Learning. Every effort will be made to resolve your difficulty. In the event that a problem cannot be resolved, a full refund can be arranged.

As stated in the Privacy page, Books for Learning places customer satisfaction as its highest priority, and will not rest until difficulties are fully dealt with.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Your email account—a warning!

Some email accounts are set up to deny email from strangers. In such a situation, your computer will not allow you to receive your receipts and PDF files! Even if you contact Books for Learning to ask about your order, no response will be able to reach you. There are two solutions to this problem:

As stated above and in the Privacy Policy, Books for Learning will never send you any unsolicited emails.

Email delivery

Books for Learning aims to send your PDF files to you within 1-2 days after purchase. Depending on the speed of your internet connection, it may take several minutes to download your files. Please be patient with this process. If you are using a remote email account (such as Hotmail, Gmail or Webmail) double click on the attachment(s) and click the Save button (disk icon at the top left of the menu bar) to save to your computer. If using an email program for downloading email to your computer (such as Outlook, Entourage etc.) click on the attachment(s) and save to another location on your computer.

Your account statement

The names PAYPAL and BOOKSFORLEA will appear on your credit card statement when you make online purchases from Books for Learning.
